SELN Recordings is delighted to present the debut album from South London’s very own Cliché Toupee, moniker of artist Cazz Walton-C.
As dark as it is delightful, this collection of tracks effortlessly journeys between a post-punk mindset and something more jovial and celebratory. Imagine if Chris and Cosey took a valium during some of their “Exotika” sessions and you might have something close. This music was recorded
over a span of eight years in a variety of different situations, physical locations and mental states; including in the self described “Opiate Fulled
Hell Hole” which was living in Rugby Town in the late 2000s.
With the earliest track on this album being recorded way back in 2007, and the most modern composition coming in hot from 2015, you’d be right to view this as a compilation. However we feel the sonic consistency throughout the music is tight and coherent, so it deserves to be experienced as an album. Anyhow your best bet is probably to just listen to the thing.
