They were so blown away by the intense motional impact of Nicola’s set, they worked up the courage to ask her if she’d be interested in reproducing it for a possible release. Thankfully she agreed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith Sonic Allies\/Vocal Others she has found audible ways to convey her love of voice as material. Also, it’s slipperiness. Nicola has been treating her voice as stuff for years, cutting it up, adding effects, manipulating it, spatialising it. With Sonic Allies\/Vocal Others she highlights the moment that her unfiltered dry vocals transform into the processed wet signal. She loves the dramatic moment where this human female voice just shapeshifts. Nicola likes the drama as the sonic allies and vocal others emerge.
